01.
Systematic Review

As published literature increases impressively in the recent years, new techniques of analyzing results have been developed. Systematic reviews concern the synthesis of published research under a well defined context. The studies to be included comply to certain methodological criteria and are critically appraised based on their design.

02.
Meta Αnalysis

Meta analysis can be a part of a systematic review. It refers to a methodology of pooling published results, with strong statistical properties, that requires the use of specialized statistical software. In BIOSTATS we undertake meta analyses using REVMAN, Meta analysis in Excel, Meta essentials, and a wide range of stata and R commands.
